
AWDO was Founded in 2018 by a group of women. ABURUGWlRO WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION, «AWDO» is a development organization guided by sustainable socio-economic development and welfare of the women and children for poverty eradication and fight against their violence.
«AWDO» is an answer to the identified needs of women and children who need to be strengthened and supported in terms of non-formal education and family participation in order to support women and children for success in school and life. Through partnership in actions and issues, «AWDO» actions aim to provide equal opportunities for citizens in Rwanda to build their leadership skills for active participation and civil society.
A Response to Critical Needs
AWDO emerged as a response to the critical needs of women and children who required nurturing, support, and empowerment, particularly in the domains of non-formal education and family participation. The organization recognizes that the path to success in both academic pursuits and life itself is often paved with obstacles for women and children. As such, AWDO has taken upon itself the vital task of providing the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to uplift them.

Central to AWDO’s mission is the belief that education is the key to empowerment and a brighter future. By offering non-formal educational opportunities and facilitating family involvement in the educational journey of women and children, AWDO strives to break down barriers and create pathways to success.
